Climate Change is the opening song on the album Underground Bunkum by Gregorstan Wolforfox and the Dog Pack. The band was recently set to launch its show last summer, but it all got scrubbed due to wildfire, heat wave, floods, hurricanes and bug infestations. So the show was turned into this virtual format, and CLIMATE CHANGE was written as a new opener.
This is a song about climate change, whether you believe it’s happening, whether you believe in doing something about it, or not. There is something in it for nearly everyone.
The song is in an almost heavy metal rock style, at least most of the way. Like most of the songs on the Underground Bunkum album, the arrangement is more complex than the typical alternation of verses and choruses that characterize modern popular music. As in many of the songs on this album, the arrangement proceeds largely by stream of consciousness, with new ideas entering as the song moves forward, all eyed toward a buildup in dramatic intensity. This type of arrangement actually partakes of operetta style composition, and it figures in about half the songs on the album, including this one.
The video track on this song by producer Don Kaufman makes an exciting experience that will leave you with no place to go, other than perhaps to click on the another song from the album, thank you.
lyrics
CLIMATE CHANGE
They say stop climate change
Before it stops us
We need to think about it right away
If we want to keep the worst of the effects at bay
Stop climate change
Before it stops us
If we don’t put a plan in play
We’re gonna get caught off guard some day
Stop climate change
Before it stops us
We need to get on top of this without delay
If not we’ll leave the future with a price to pay
Stop climate change
Before it stops us
We’ll soon reach a tipping point
Where there’s no turning back
It gets to where the changes pile on top of
One another, so fast we can’t keep track
We ought to try to clean the atmosphere
To help the ecosystem thrive
If our carbon footprint stomps out plant life
Less people and creatures will survive
Greenhouse emissions poked a hole in the ozone layer
The polar ice cap had to take the heat
We cloned the wooly mammoth
Just to give, the homeless more to eat
They used to call it global warming
Until one day we realized
The warming also causes cooling that we object to
Happening, right before your eyes
Oceans swallow coastal cities
Fires ravage inland valleys
Milling throngs flood the prairie
Dogs forage in the alleys
It’s easy to fix this
We know what to do
World leaders have opted
To leave the whole response to you
One day the world will know
We did not meet our goal
People will want to take off for anywhere
And there will be no place to go
Oh yeah
There will be no place to go
Nowhere
There will be no place to go
One more time
There will be no place to go
Two more times

The star of Underground Bunkum, lead singer Gregorstan Wolforfox, was born in obscurity. Where? He’s not sure – that’s why
it is in obscurity! A meteoric rise, a precipitous fall, a rise from the ashes, and now this – UNDERGROUND BUNKUM front and center on the virtual stage....more

A solid debut from a promising band, Golden Head is one hell of a first statement. My favourite pick would be Morrigan, the track truly highlights everything Sol Ether has to offer. Deeply mystical work that resonates on a subconscious level, appealing to instincts and fears rather than betting on shock value. And those vocals - it’s pure primal rage

I totally love the sophistication behind Sir-Vere’s songwriting - one might even think it’s simplistic and primitive, but after many years of digging into progressive and technical music I’d say it takes way more skill to compose and record something as big as LOVESCOPE.
